The Writers of Gor are a collection of friends and writers from around the world who enjoy creating their own original writings - prose, poetry, and lyrics - based on the 27 Chronicles of Gor novels written by John Norman. We are roleplayers in the virtual world, Second Life. Authors on these forums often use their writings to enhance or complement roleplay inworld.
Some of us are published real world writers and editors, others may be working steadily towards a goal to be published, while some write for their own personal pleasure, or to enhance roleplay. The group was created so we may all support and help one another, share works-in-progress in a positive environment, meet like-minded individuals, and seek roleplay opportunities as individuals and/or as a group.
We have our own in-world group to support members and exchange information, and to communicate about writing. Do a search under 'Writers of Gor' in SL. Enrolment is by invite only, and only an officer of the group may invite you in. Writing your own original, quality work is an important requirement.
I strongly encourage you to utilize these boards to share your work and receive feedback, or to comment - constructively - on others' work. If you wish to simply post a finished piece so all may admire it - that's fine also!
Just remember that we are here to support one another. Constructive criticism, balanced analysis = win. Flaming, trolling, ripping apart someone's work maliciously, or plagarising will result in a kick up the arse and probably a ban.
It's an excellent idea to copyright your original pieces.
This is not an in-character forum unless it's part of the work you share. Everyone is treated with equal respect and courtesy unless proven to be an idiot.
If you are here to enter our monthly creative writing competition, please create an account, sign in and navigate to the appropriate thread to read the rules of the comp, and upload your work. The thread will usually have the month we are currently in as the thread title, and the words 'Post Here'. Good luck!
